Air Blower Cooler

Our direct customer is a system integrator building a THIOPAQ unit for a user to remove H2S from their process gas. We supplied a cooler for this unit to cool process air.

The customer had selected an air cooler. Based on the requirements and specifications, a plug-type header proved to be the most optimal choice.

In addition to the customer specifications, there are various process cases in which the air cooler must operate. These involve different flows, inlet temperatures, and pressures. This has been incorporated into the thermal design, and the fans are frequency-controlled to regulate the outlet temperature of the process gas. To protect the bundle and the process gas from freezing, an electric heater is placed under the bundle and a louver section above the bundle. To facilitate inspection and maintenance, a platform is included at the inlet and outlet header. Furthermore, loads that may occur during rail transport have been taken into account.

This concerns an ACHE heat exchanger. 4 rows of high-finned tubes, 2 passes. Entirely in CS according to PED cat. IV/Mod. H1, ASME VIII Div. 1, and API 661.
